Because reading is one of my favorite pastimes and because I love to talk about books, I will be recommending titles from time to time and asking you to share your reactions to those books and the characters in them.

The book that I want to recommend for this month is The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

When her best friend makes a political issue of not allowing the "help" to use the toilets in their employers' houses, she decides to write a book that you can't put down . . .

Henry David Thoreau wrote, "A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living in its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting." How did reading The Help change something about you?
